About Me

My mom inspires me the most because she has always set such a good example for me and has been my number one supporter in everything I do.  Most people don’t know that before I started playing volleyball, I was a gymnast and cheerleader.  After college, I see myself, living closer to my family and friends and working, not sure doing what quite yet.  I’d like to thank my club coaches this season- Katlyn Mataya and Kyla Nakamura. They have helped me completely change my mindset and boosted my confidence on the court.  Getting to travel with some of my best friends and competing in state this year for school are some of my most memorable volleyball moments.

About Me

My favorite color is green, and I love the song “Don’t Stop Believing – Journey”.  My most memorable volleyball moments are of me hitting a ball off a girls face and then Paris hitting it down for the kill.  I’m inspired by my mom – she handles her emotions very well and is very good at dealing with people even when she’s upset.  Something about me that most people don’t know is that I can talk with my mouth shut.  In 5 years, I see myself probably working for my father.  I want to thank my parents and my club coaches for supporting me throughout my volleyball career!

About Me

My mom, dad, brother, and sister inspire me everyday. I can not pick one person.  My mom is kind and understanding and knows me so well. I talk to her about everything, and she pushes me to always do the right thing. My dad will always give me the facts. He is honest with me, and he always guides me down the right path. My brother is very driven and goal oriented, which helps me to keep my own goals in check. My sister is the most empathetic person I’ve ever met. She is a constant reminder that I should always have love in my heart for others.  Something about me that most people don’t know is I am very talented at doodling.  I see myself being a 1st grade teacher with a very trendy and aesthetic classroom.  I’d like to thank my mom and dad, and my first coach at Puget Sound, Coach Mike. He believed in me when I played my first year at Puget Sound and has always supported me throughout these last 6 years.

About Me

My family inspires me the most because they always push me to my fullest extent and are my biggest supporters.  Something special about me that many people don’t know is that I’m graduating with my aa in pre nursing!  I see myself being a nurse and helping others around me! I also hope to be married and start a family of my own.  I would like to thank Bobby and Jill for supporting me throughout my high school volleyball career and through this past year of club. They always guided me on the right path and helped me regain the love for the game that I had lost. I would also like to thank my family for the constant support through the best years of my life!  My most memorable volleyball moments are going to Nationals and making new friendships that I’ll cherish forever!

About Me

Some of my favorite volleyball moments are making Varsity all 4 years, being MVP & First Team All-League, and beating the 3rd rank team in the nation in my U16 club year!  I want to remind young players to always try your best no matter what, learn to love the process, not the results. Always have fun because club volleyball doesn’t last forever.  I’m so inspired by my mom because no matter what happens to her, she always treats others with love, and she is the most selfless person and will never think of herself first.  In 5 years, I see myself working as a high school athletic trainer or playing professional volleyball.  Thank to my husband Ruvim because he was always there for me pushing me to do my best even when I felt discouraged. I also want to thank my athletic trainer Mr. Geise, he helped me a ton with my knee, but also held me accountable for getting things done and pushing me to my full potential as a student and player.

Volleyball Accomplishments:  Being able to see the change in my skill and seeing my improvement. As well committing to college to continue my love for the sport.

Non-Volleyball Accomplishments: Being able to grow up and learn how to do things on my own, and graduating high school, as well deciding what college I’m spending the next 4 years of my life at.

My most memorable volleyball moments are the Matt Hartner Tournament in Oregon in my 16s year – our first day of the tournament we wore my moms shirts and played for her.  As well, being able to play for 2 of my favorite coaches at psvba this year!

My Favorites:

Inspirational Quote: “attitude is everything” – Heather Sugg

Motivational Song: Determinate – from the movie lemonade mouth

Favorite Color: forest green

I’m inspired by My mom. She inspires me the most, because she fought so hard after being diagnosed. She never let her attitude or how hard it was get in the way of how she lived her life. She always taught me that being yourself and fighting for what you believe in is the best way to “survive” life.

Something about me that most people don’t know about me I would say is my humor.  Not many people know my sense of humor because it takes me a little bit to open up to people. Also outside of volleyball and school i am very adventurous and love the outdoors.

In five (5) years I see myself graduating college, and starting my new life of being an athletic trainer.

Some advice I’d like to give younger players is Don’t be afraid to make a mistake, it’s okay! there is not one person who doesn’t make a mistake. Also, just be your self, have fun with the sport. You can’t enjoy a sport if you don’t make it fun.

I would thank Coach Kyla and Katlyn, my dad and Sydney Locke. They all helped me get through so much, and always made sure that i was doing okay. They were definitely a big part of why i was able to continue to love the sport and want to further my career.

  • Motivational or Inspirational Song:  Nobody’s Perfect (Hannah Montana)
  • Color:  Purple

I’m inspired by my grandma for the love and compassion she has for everyone, and how selfless she is!

Something about me that most people don’t know is that I can “almost” do the splits.

In 5 years I see myself “happy” and still in school (maybe orthodontics) thriving.

I’d like younger players to put in the work cause others around you are always getting better too and don’t cheat yourself in practice because in the end you’re hurting yourself and your team

Thank you Mom, Dad, Kiran and all my coaches who have ever worked with me!

I’m inspired by my mom because of how much she cares for people and goes out of her way to make them happy. Anyone who knows her knows how much she loves to give and I hope to one day be as generous as her.

Something about me that most people don’t know is when my mom was a kid, she competed in the Junior Olympics as a synchronized swimmer, so whenever we go on vacation and there is a pool, I always try to mirror her talents, and absolute fail every time.

In 5 years I see myself in grad school earning my certification to be a nurse practitioner.

Some advice I’d like to give younger players is “Never stop playing for your teammates, those people will be some of the best you ever meet!

I would like to thank my parents for supporting me most through this journey. Not only have they financially supported me, but I do not remember a single time where neither of them were at one of my games. Even if the truck broke down on the side of the road (true story) they both still showed up.
